Through the first three weeks of the season, the Jacksonville Jaguars look legit. Say what you will about Blake Bortles being the garbage-time king of the NFL, the Jags defense ensured that the entire game on Sunday in London was garbage time.

The Ravens looked atrocious on offense, which largely was because the unit just doesn’t have any weapons. A big reason for the lack of production, though, was how smothering the Jaguars defense as the entire afternoon. It wasn’t a reincarnation of #Sacksonville, but the Jaguars held the Ravens offense to under 10-yards of offense for an entire half of football.

That’s unbelievable.

Anyone doubting the Jaguars defense as a Top-10 unit in the league isn’t paying close enough attention. Jacksonville’s defense is the real deal, and when Blake Bortles stays out of his own way good things happen. Blowouts happen. If you’ve watched Jaguars football at all the past decade, blowouts never happen.

Maybe this was just a wonky London game (which the Jaguars historically play well in), but it feels like a lot more. Right now Jacksonville is 2-1 and in the driver’s seat of the AFC South. The division looks a lot better than it used to be, but the Jaguars rousing win over the Ravens in London might be the spur the team needs to become special this year.
