Virginia Tech Hokies 4-0

Last week: Won 38-0 over Old Dominion
Last rank: 4

Everything went right for Virginia Tech as far as power rankings are concerned last weekend, and they emerge out of an eventful weekend as the second-best team on this list.

The Hokies pulled out a dominant 38-0 win over Old Dominion last weekend and moved up two spots to number 2 on the list after Florida State’s big loss to NC State and Miami’s groggy performance against Toledo. They have the opportunity to move up even further this upcoming Saturday as they play Clemson in the weekend’s best game, and it’ll be interesting to see if the Hokies can take advantage of the big stage.

Clemson rolled to an ACC win for the second straight week when they lit up Boston College at home on Saturday, and they’re looking incredibly strong offensively as we really get going in the 2017 season. Now, they’ll have a huge game with Virginia Tech to prep for, and this is one of the true tests this season to see if Clemson can hang onto this top spot for the rest of the year.
