2018 NFL Mock Draft: With Jets win, QB no longer guaranteed
By Brad Weiss
The Dallas Cowboys are supposed to dominate in the NFC East this season, but they are struggled to play consistent football early on. They looked good against the New York Giants in Week 1, but then they went ahead and were blown out by Denver in Week 2. In Week 3, they had a solid victory against the Arizona Cardinals on Monday Night Football, as wideout Dez Bryant finally broke out of an early-season slump.
The Cowboys need to bring in reinforcements along the wide receiver position, and Calvin Ridley would be a nice fit to what they do. Dallas has tremendous young talent at quarterback, and running back, but Bryant is starting to get a but long in the tooth. He should have a few good years left, but the team needs to bring in more talent around him to take some of the pressure off of him in the passing game.
Ridley plays in a run-first offense at Alabama, and will likely be even more explosive at the next level. Alabama is going to get another chance at a national title in 2017, as they have been one of the best teams in college football once again this season. Ridley is a difference maker for the Crimson Tide, and has that star quality that Cowboys fans expect from their superstars.
