High Priced Quarterbacks

Kicking things off are the quarterbacks. The top five priced DraftKings quarterbacks are:

Tom Brady – New England Patriots (8000): New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady has been on fire after a disappointing Week 1. Last week against a tough Houston Texans defense, he threw five touchdown passes. That came after a Week 2 that saw him throw for 400+ yards and three touchdowns.  However, the Panthers, their Week 4 opponent, rank in the bottom ten of fantasy points allowed to opposing quarterbacks and have only allowed three touchdowns on the season.

Matt Ryan – Atlanta Falcons (7400): The Falcons quarterback is bouncing back from his MVP season with another solid performance. He welcomes the Bills this week. The same Buffalo team that has not allowed a single passing touchdown on the year. They also are the owners of the fourth-best opposing QB QBR in the league. The secondary, even after losing some big-name players, can still shut down QBs. Ryan has a tougher matchup than his $7400 price tag would represent.

Russell Wilson – Seattle Seahawks (7300): If you are going to spend the big bucks on a quarterback you would be wise to look at Russell Wilson of the Seattle Seahawks. The biggest worry with Seattle and Wilson is their awful offensive line play. Luckily the Colts have registered just six sacks on the season. They lack that premier pass rusher that offensive lines fear. Indianapolis has also allowed the third most yards to opposing quarterbacks. The Seahawks and Wilson are coming off of a tough loss to the Tennessee Titans and play much better at home, where they will be this week. For $700 less than Tom Brady, Wilson would be a confident play entering the week.

Drew Brees – New Orleans Saints (7200): Brees and the Saints take on the Miami Dolphins in London on the Sunday early game. The Dolphins, in just their two games this season, have been middle of the pack defensively against opposing quarterbacks. Brees is a rare player that seems matchup proof but on the road outside in Miami makes him a questionable DraftKings play at that price.
Carson Wentz – Philadelphia Eagles (6600): Wentz also gets a middle of the road secondary in the Los Angeles Chargers. The Eagles have talked about running the ball to relieve the pressure on Wentz. His value is directly tied to volume. If the Eagles choose to run the ball, and they should, he will not be worth the fifth highest price.
