Kendall Joseph

LB, Clemson

As the Clemson Tigers continue to dominate, more of their players will keep rising up many draft boards. It’s a natural effect that has taken place on big boards for many years as a result of the success a program has.

The players earn their spot on the board as well. Kendall Joseph is one of those Clemson defensive studs that continues to have a standout year. The linebacker racks up big tackle numbers every games and with ease.

He finds where the ball is going and makes sure he is in space to make the tackle. He loves to get his nose in every situation and he had a big role in Clemson’s win over the weekend against Virginia Tech.

The linebacker finished the night with 10 tackles and displayed the qualities that have him rising. There hasn’t been a hangover with the defending National Champions and it’s because of a strong defensive front that includes Joseph.

Courtland Sutton

WR, SMU

After starting the year high on plenty of rankings, Courtland Sutton had to adjust to a difficult life against defenses. No longer flying under the radar, Sutton has been game planned against every week and he is the guy to stop when facing SMU.

It caused his production to dip for a bit until he had that one game that got him rolling. Against UConn, Sutton had that game and was a big factor in the blowout win over the Huskies this past week.

He finished the night with seven receptions for 112 yards and two touchdowns. It was exactly the bounce-back performance that people wanted to see from him after he had struggled mightily before this.

The improvement is the key here and the fact that he is starting to excel against programs that aim to shut him down first on the game plan. He has the size and tools, but he just needs to maintain that consistency while having all the attention.
