Sit: Packers Running Backs

Before picking up a rib injury, Ty Montgomery was looking pretty good as the main fantasy option in Green Bay. Although the yards per carry average wasn’t great and hasn’t been on the season (3.3), Montgomery had a touchdown in each of his first two games, followed by an eight-catch performance in Week 3. He was definitely startable.

In the remainder of the game when Montgomery went down, rookie Aaron Jones shined with 49 yards and a score on 13 carries. In Week 5, he looked like a superstar – posting 125 yards on the ground on 19 carries (6.6 yards per) and a touchdown. The Packers may have a gem in the speedy runner from UTEP. He played 83% of the snaps against the Cowboys, and other rookies Jamaal Williams and Devante Mays didn’t get a look in.

But this week, the Packers face the second-best defense against fantasy running backs. The Minnesota Vikings are eighth in the league against the run, and it’ll be a tough task for Jones to repeat his performance from last week. How much will Montgomery play? Will Jones hold off the veteran? There are a ton of questions this week, and it might be best to avoid the crowded situation.
