Hot Seat Watch, Week 7: Winners and losers
Winner – Todd Graham
In a week that was bad for just about every coach on the hot seat, it was an equally greater one for Arizona State head coach Todd Graham. For the second time this season, the Sun Devils have defeated a ranked opponent at home.
They didn’t just defeat any ranked opponent this time, they managed to knock off the No. 5 Washington Huskies in a game where their defense played at a level no one expected. They managed to hold the Huskies to just seven points.
Graham bought himself a few weeks when he defeated Oregon. This win probably takes him off the hot seat altogether and gives the Sun Devils something to build upon now as they take a look to the future.

Throughout his tenure, Graham has managed to coach his program to big wins against ranked opponents at home. There probably weren’t many people expecting him to pull out the wins he has this year, but his guys have done it.
Watching what was a terrible defense show a formidable pass rush play in and play out should have everyone intrigued about what they could be capable of. If this recent stretch is any sign, the Sun Devils could be on their way to a much better year than expected.
