30. Will the Cleveland Cavaliers go all in?

When you have LeBron James, you’re already in the NBA Finals. Sure, the Cleveland Cavaliers still have to win 12 playoff games before they’re officially in the Finals, but that’s just semantics and a scheme to make money. If the NBA didn’t care about things like competition and money, they’d just allow the team with LeBron James to be in the Finals. But competition and money are important, so basketball games must be played.

While LeBron can usually book his trip to the Finals in October, this year the Cavaliers are a bit…underwhelming. Isaiah Thomas won’t be healthy until January, Derrick Rose and Dwyane Wade are in 2017, Tristan Thompson is Tristan Thompson, and Kevin Love is somehow the guy who people are like, “Hey, I like Kevin Love and he’s pretty good.”

Not only do the Cavs look weak compared to the powerhouses out West, but the Boston Celtics are taking direct aim at the King this year.

But the Cavs have that famed Brooklyn first round pick that could turn them from “Finals team because of LeBron James” to “Finals teams with LeBron James.” That famed Brooklyn first round pick that could turn into Anthony Davis, DeMarcus Cousins, DeAndre Jordan, or the entire bottom half of the Eastern Conference.

Or it could remain the famed Brooklyn first pick that turns into a top-five pick in the 2018 NBA Draft and the only player on Cleveland you’re going to recognize next season should LeBron decided to leave.

So, will the Cavs go all in and trade the pick with LeBron’s future up in the air? Probably not. And that’s completely fine.
