29. Can Russell Westbrook rein it in with Paul George & Carmelo Anthony?

Last season, with Kevin Durant departing, Russell Westbrook was able to do what he wanted because who the hell wanted to see Victor Oladipo and Enes Kanter try to do things? He averaged a triple-double and put up video game numbers en route to being named league MVP.

Now, Oladipo and Kanter are gone and replaced by Paul George and Carmelo Anthony. People want to see them do things. If George and Anthony are going to do things, Westbrook will have do less things. After doing the things that he wanted to do, does he even know how to do less?

I can’t answer this question. I can’t answer any question when it comes to the Thunder point guard. Not because I’m a biased Thunder fan who won’t let his fandom get in the way of democracy, but because there are no right answers when it comes to Russell Westbrook. The guy’s motto is “Why Not?” He answers questions with questions. Who does that? Only crazy people, right?

“Hey Russell, want to wear a snake skin vest, a skirt made out of ostrich feathers, and sandals with socks?” “Sure, why not?” “Hey Russell, want to eat pigs eyes for dinner and wash it down with a cow turd smoothie?” “Sure, why not?” “Hey Russell, want to play with Carmelo Anthony and Paul George but still take 30 shots a game?” “Sure, why not?”

It’s impossible to answer questions about Russell Westbrook because just when you think you have all the answers, he changes the curriculum.
