Saquon Barkley

Running Back, Penn State

The New York Giants may be the biggest disappointment in the NFL  this season, and through the first eight weeks of the season, they find themselves picking in the top-3. While most believed a New York team would be picking this high, nearly everybody figured it would have been the Jets. Well, here we are, and with the Giants schedule looking pretty daunting the rest of the way, they could be picking at least in the top-5 in April.

With that pick, the Giants should look to bring in a star running back. Penn State’s Saquon Barkley is like no running back prospect we have seen in a long time, and the Giants are starving for a talented back behind Eli Manning. With Manning getting up there in age, it may be time to focus on running the ball more, and that would open things up downfield to guys like Odell Beckham Jr. and Sterling Shepard going forward.

The Giants may want to go left tackle here, and if Mike McGlinchey is still available, that could certainly be the pick. However, Barkley and New York would be such a perfect fit, as he is built for the limelight of the big city. Barkley is going to be a terrific pro, and with a ton of talent on defense, incorporating a star back, and possibly a big offensive lineman in free agency, this Giants team could be back in the playoffs next season.
