Derwin James

Defensive Back, Florida State

The Indianapolis Colts are not likely to get Andrew Luck back this season, and that means that they will likely be picking near the top of the first round next April. Jacoby Brissett has done a nice job in relief of the injured Luck, but he does not have the skills necessary to be a consistent winning quarterback at this point in his career. He is going to keep the Colts in games, but they are likely to finish at the bottom of the AFC South this season.

Next April, the Colts should look to bring in someone to help out on defense, especially if Luck is ruled ready to come back and be the player he used to be. The best defensive back in this draft class is Derwin James, who is an electric player for the Florida State Seminoles. James has the ability to play all over the secondary and would give the Colts an elite safety for the next five years minimum.

It will be interesting to see what happens with Luck, as many believed he would already be back by now. If they do get him back, they will be a contender next season in the AFC South, as they have proven they can come close to winning without him. This team has a bunch of holes on their roster, but grabbing a player like James in the first round would definitely be an upgrade over anybody they have in the secondary right now.
