Steve Grogan Division

16. Cam Newton (Prev: 17)

Newton and the Panthers are hurdling toward the postseason, but to do damage there, he has to do more. The Heisman Trophy winner and national champion has thrown for 2,232 yards and 14 touchdowns, but 11 picks and a YPA of 6.93 isn’t good enough.

15. Derek Carr (Prev: 14)

Everybody thought Carr woudl explode in his fourth year after getting a $125 million contract. Instead, Carr has been decidedly average. The youngster has thrown for 2,191 yards and 14 touchdowns, completing 64 percent of his throws.

14. Jacoby Brissett (Prev: 16)

Brissett doesn’t get a ton of attention because he’s a backup quarterback on a bad team, but the kid can play. Brissett has almost no help, had no time to learn the offense, has a bad coach, and still has 2,172 yards. Not bad.

13. Case Keenum (Prev: 13)

Keenum is captaining a potential championship ship in Minnesota. The Vikings have a punishing defense, and Keenum is complementing it with 12 touchdowns, 2,194 yards and a completion rate of 65.7.
