5. Denver Broncos

Another Manning in the Mile High City? Yes, please.

After a successful career with the Indianapolis Colts, Peyton Manning finished his days out with the Denver Broncos. He had some of his most memorable moments in Denver, even winning a Super Bowl with the team before retirement. Could we see the same from Eli? Possibly.

The Broncos are in desperate need of a quarterback. Denver has one of the if not the worst quarterback situations in the National Football League. Paxton Lynch has been a flop, Trevor Siemian is inexcusably bad and Brock Osweiler hasn’t been given the nickname ‘Brick Osweiler’ for nothing. Despite all this, the Broncos have managed to win three games. That’s good, right? Well, for this team, yes.

Manning would be a substantial upgrade at the position over all of the scrubs currently in the quarterback ranks. With a stingy, stout defense and some weapons on offense, Manning could revamp his career with the Broncos and even compete in what is probably football’s worst division. Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders are seasoned veterans, just like Manning, who could really help. Thomas and Sanders offer a significant situational boost in terms of Manning’s receivers. The Broncos wouldn’t have to rely as heavily on the passing game as the Giants do, either, taking some weight off Manning’s shoulders. C.J. Anderson is a capable running back, despite his recent struggles. Heck, even Jamaal Charles is an upgrade over what the Giants are able to currently do on the ground.

If I were John Elway, I’d pick up the phone and call Eli right away. Elway’s time may be coming to an end as the Broncos’ general manager, this could be a move that saves his job. Manning to the Broncos could save the franchise from wasting a perfectly good defense by fielding a poor offense and make Denver a contender once again.
