4. Arizona Cardinals

With Carson Palmer’s future in the league hanging in the balance, it’s never too late to look for another solution. Who better to suit up for the Cardinals than Eli Manning? While it is true Blaine Gabbert has shown glimpses of the quarterback he can be, he’s still good ole Gabbert.

Close your eyes, remove all things from your brain and focus. Now, imagine Manning throwing to Larry Fitzgerald. Yes, both of them are nearing the end of their respective careers, but if that duo doesn’t excite you, you’re crazy. Best of all, he’s locked up for at least another year. Manning could take the Cardinals to the top with the top-notch receiving corps in Arizona. With the likes of John Brown and J.J. Nelson headlining an exciting future for the Cardinals offense, they can be top targets for Manning for years to come. Just look at what the Cardinals have done to revamp Palmer’s career, they could do the same for Manning.

Best of all? Manning won’t be under a tremendous amount of pressure to throw the ball. After all, David Johnson returns next season as one of the league’s most promising young backs. The Cardinals offense will be centered around somebody other than Manning, for the first time in his career. More rest, less stress and more talent to target — sounds like a luxury for Manning.

Whether or not Bruce Arians returns next season, the Cardinals will be in good hands. Even though Arizona has been decimated by injuries this season, it’s still in the thick of things. The Cardinals are a talented football team. Much like many of the other teams on this list, they’re a decent, experienced quarterback away from contending.
