The reigning Finals NBA MVP teamed up with Overtime and analyzed game footage of several highly touted high school basketball players.

Kevin Durant is a former NBA MVP and arguably one of the games best players in the league. He recently took some time away from giving NBA defenders nightmares and hooked up with Overtime to give his scouting analysis on some of the nation’s top young high school talent.

KD starts his scouting video with internet sensation, LaMelo Ball brother of Los Angeles Lakers rookie Lonzo Ball. The former MVP states he loves the way LaMelo plays and how talented he is at his age.

“I love his game because he’s skilled, kids aren’t pulling up like that,” Durant said about Ball. But Durant made a point to express that LaMelo plays a little erratic due to his school Chino Hills but in the right system, Durant thinks LaMelo will flourish if he keeps learning the game.

Next up, is the bull in the China shop — as Durant likes to refer to Zion Williamson. KD had some high praise for the high flying high school senior out of South Carolina calling him a “freakish athlete.”

“Like a once in a generation-type athlete,” Durant said. “You cant give him any kind of space or he’s taking off.”

Durant continued his analysis of other top players and moments into watching New Jersey junior Scottie Lewis. Durant was impressed.

“Oh wow. Oh yeah, he got something,” Durant said. ” He got the launching-pad athleticism. As soon as he touches a certain area of the floor, he’s just going to bounce.”

The 10-year NBA veteran also looked at other young talents in the video like Cam Reddish, who he thinks will be a star one day, as well other players like Luther Muhammad, Cole Anthony, and Keldon Johnson. It’s pretty awesome to see someone of Durant’s level take an interest in the high school game and share his thoughts on future potential pros.

Who knows how long Durant will continue to give us these scouting videos but hopefully this is only the start. Add this to his list of potential careers for Durant when he retires. We already know he has a love for photography, just ask Russell Westbrook.
