Injuries create opportunities in the NFL and that’s exactly what is happening in Oakland this week. The Raiders will likely be without their top two receivers as Michael Crabtree is suspended after his ridiculous fight with Broncos cornerback Aqib Talib. Meanwhile, Amari Cooper will likely miss with a concussion and an ankle injury. Seth Roberts is going to be one of the last men standing in this passing offense.

The game logs are not very pretty for Roberts up to this point. He has yet to exceed six targets and has not gone over 50 yards yet this season. On top of that, he has one touchdown on the season. That’s what happens when a player is buried on the depth chart. Someone in this offense has to catch the ball.

The matchup this week is far from daunting. The New York Giants just benched one of the best quarterbacks their franchise has ever seen. It’s very hard to believe they’re going to fly cross country and put forth a good effort on either side of the ball. Additionally, New York’s defense hasn’t been good at any point this year. They rank in the bottom 10 against wide receivers so far this season. Roberts should be able to perform as a flex this week.
