This might be one of the biggest signs of how quickly the NFL can change. At the start of the season, no fantasy owner would have ever believed that Jordy Nelson would be considered a sleeper. He was a top-10 option at the receiver position by almost every fantasy analyst out there. Nelson’s season took a terrible turn right around the time that quarterback Aaron Rodgers broke his collarbone. This is a week where owners can actually consider putting him in their lineup.

The lack of production that Nelson has put up in the last five games would have gotten him cut if his name wasn’t Jordy Nelson. Fantasy owners are loath to let go of someone who has a history of being a stud. However, Nelson hasn’t gone above four receptions or 35 yards in five weeks with quarterback Brett Hundley under center. This week, Green Bay faces the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at home. The Bucs rank dead last against the wide receiver position on the season and will play in one of the toughest environments in football. Hundley actually showed some positive signs last week in Pittsburgh. Week 13 could be the reason owners have held onto Nelson and he should be in the WR3 range.
