2. Moyes gets first West Ham win against Chelsea

The first game of the weekend sees a struggling West Ham side welcome Chelsea to the London Stadium. Although David Moyes seems to have brought a slight upturn in the Hammers form, he only has a point to show for it. However, there’s definitely been signs of improvement under the Scottish manager.

Last week, the Hammers can feel a little aggrieved to have come away from the Etihad with nothing, losing 2-1 to a late David Silva goal. Almost beating the runaway league leaders on their own patch is definitely a sign this team are heading in the right direction.

Chelsea will also provide a very difficult test for Moyes’ side and most people will expect them to take all three points on Saturday. The Blues did have a tough Champions League match in midweek, though, when they were held to a 1-1 draw by Atletico.

This means that Antonio Conte’s men might not be as fresh as the West Ham players. If the Hammers come out the blocks early and avoid conceding in the opening 30 minutes, they’ll grow in confidence and could go on to win.

The good news for West Ham fans is that their side have beaten Chelsea in both of the past two years so they’ll know a victory isn’t outside the realm of possibility. Moyes will get an important win and in doing so really kick-start his time in charge of West Ham.
