High Value Quarterbacks

Dak Prescott – Dallas Cowboys ($5600) – The Dallas Cowboys are not the 2016 version of themselves but their last game against Washington has at least inspired hope. Quarterback Dak Prescott struggled in the weeks before the Redskins game but rebounded against Washington. This week they get another NFC East foe in the New York Giants. The Giants defense is another team that looks like a shell of their 2016 version. New York’s defense has surrendered the fifth-most yards to opposing quarterbacks over the last four weeks. If Dallas’ offensive line can negate the Giants pass rush there will be windows for Prescott to throw to. In the first game of the season Prescott had almost 300 total yards and a touchdown against this Giants team. As DraftKings’ 16th-ranked quarterback, the upside of Prescott against a weak Giants defense is enough to throw him into a lineup comfortably.

Jimmy Garoppolo – San Francisco 49ers ($5400) – The San Francisco 49ers finally started newly acquired quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo in last week’s game. He did not set the world on fire but led the 49ers to the victory. He took care of the ball for the most part and showed signs that he could be the future of the franchise at quarterback. The Chicago Bears defense, last week’s opponent are surprisingly tough against quarterbacks. This week as San Francisco battles the Houston Texans, he should not be met with the same resistance. Houston ranks seventh in points allowed to opposing quarterbacks over the last four weeks. Garoppolo lacks an elite weapon on the outside but there are decent playmakers to take advantage of weak Texans secondary. He is one spot behind Prescott and I think both have low floors and allow you to spend big on other players while getting value at quarterback.
