Tom Brady apologizes to Josh McDaniels for his sideline rant
New England quarterback Tom Brady apologizes to offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels for his sideline rant last Sunday.
In a press conference leading up to Monday nights matchup against the Miami Dolphins, New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady apologized to his offensive coordinator, Josh McDaniels. Brady lashed out at McDaniels after a failed series in the first quarter against the Buffalo Bills. What appeared to be a coach attempting to coach his star quarterback, Brady was noncompliant with the criticism.
"“I want to apologize to Josh for last week in Buffalo. I know our coaches work really hard, and they are responsible for putting us in a great position to succeed. I just want to get that off my chest,” Brady said in opening remarks, before he answered any questions."
Brady has shown this temperament on the sidelines before, so his behavior isn’t anything new. He further elaborated that while those types of exchanges are normal in football, he doesn’t harbor any ill feelings toward McDaniels. Brady stated that the exchange between him and McDaniels have bothered him all week.
"“Yeah, but a lot of people see it and they think the nature of our relationship might be something like that, but it’s really the exact opposite of that. I’ve been feeling bad all week and haven’t had a chance to say it. He knows how much I love him.”"
Interestingly enough, Brady’s behavior on the sideline is usually discounted as a product of his passion to win. New York Giants star receiver Odell Beckham Jr. posted a video of actions displayed by Brady, then actions of himself.

It could be said that Beckham was implying a double standard in how Brady is viewed then how he is viewed. If it is indeed a double standard, one could say Brady’s resume gives him that type of leeway.
