3. The Eagles will have some kind of home-field advantage

If there’s anything to positive to take away from Wentz’s injury it’s that the Eagles still came away with a win. They’re now 11-2, have clinched the NFC East and sit alone atop of the NFC as the No. 1 seed thanks to a Vikings loss. With three winnable games to finish out the season, the Eagles should come away with at least two wins. That would put them at 13-3, which would be good enough for a first-round bye. Best case scenario, that’s good enough for home-field advantage in the NFC. Either way, home-field just became a lot more important with Foles under center.

Lincoln Financial Field is one of the best stadiums in the NFL in terms of crowd support. It’s played a huge part in the Eagles’ success this season and it will do the same for Foles. He’s entering a ton of pressure and it’ll help greatly with the support of the Eagles fanbase around him. It doesn’t matter how well you play on the road, having the comfortability of a home game is always a major advantage.

The last thing the Eagles can afford to do is start Foles on the road in the playoffs at Minnesota, New Orleans or another hostile road environment. He can lead this team to wins and the more they play at home the better. If the road to the Super Bowl in the NFC goes through Philadelphia, Foles could very well put together a run with the support around him.
