8. The Goff-Kupp connection

The Los Angeles Rams are NFC West champions and have a plethora of young talent to be excited about. Aside from running back Todd Gurley, rookie wide receiver Cooper Kupp is one of those weapons. The third-round rookie out of Eastern Washington leads rookie wide receivers in most offensive categories and is set to be a bonified star in the NFL. He continued to show off his skills with this touchdown catch from Jared Goff early in the fourth quarter against the Rams.

That’s not an easy catch by any means and Kupp laid out for it. That’s the kind of effort that gets you far in this league. The Rams have been an offensive juggernaut this season and that doesn’t look to be slowing down. With a 27-23 win against the Titans, they’re a dangerous team heading into the postseason.

7. What a save!

It’s not often special teams plays, let along punt coverage plays will make a highlight list but this one was too good to leave out. In a 21-12 loss to the Seahawks today, Cowboys free safety Byron Jones made this incredible save to keep Chris Jones’ punt out of the end zone in the first quarter. Just like we saw Cooper Kupp layout, Jones did the same and somersaulted into the end zone. It was an incredible play, to say the least.

It seems like the league is trying to eventually fade out special teams for good but for now, we’ll continue to enjoy these incredible plays. This is exactly how players make a name for themselves on the starting 11. It all starts on special teams and Jones certainly comes away with some confidence after making that save. You won’t see it much better than that.
