High Value PG

Ish Smith, DET at ORL ($4,900): Reggie Jackson is going to be out awhile, leaving Smith to pick up the pieces. In 32 games as a starter for the Pistons last season, Smith averaged 27.6 FPPG and hit value in 69 percent of games. He’s proven that he can step up in this role, which is a good sign for potential owners. He has an easy first matchup as the Magic are dead last against the position in their last 15 games. He’s a slight risk, but his low salary combined with the matchup and his likely usage makes him well worth it. ****

Tyus Jones, MIN at MIL ($3,400): There is no official update on Jeff Teague as of this writing, but given that he’s scheduled for an MRI on Thursday after suffering a knee injury, it’s safe to assume he’ll be out of action against the Bucks. That’s good news for Jones, who filled in admirably when Teague went down earlier in the season. Jones is averaging 37.3 fantasy points as a starter this year, playing big minutes in every contest. At this salary, he’s a great option as he’ll see plenty of playing time to be well above value. *****

Terry Rozier, BOS vs HOU ($4,300): Rozier has been over 30 fantasy points in his last two games. He’s gotten extended run in the last four games, increasing his usage along the way. The Rockets are 28th against the position in their last 15 games. If Chris Paul plays, I don’t like Rozier quite as much just because he’ll be out there against Paul or Harden the entire game. With Paul out, Rozier can take advantage of the Houston backups. He’s not really a risk at the price and should be able to produce a solid game. ***
