Running Backs: Carlos Hyde, San Francisco 49ers-$6,900; Derrick Henry, Tennessee Titans-$5,800

Hyde has rushed for more than 75 yards just once in his last five games, but he has offset that some with a touchdown in two of his last three and at least two catches in four of those five games. He has also topped 20 carries just twice all season, but he could make it three against the Los Angeles Rams in Week 17.

The Rams have the league’s 25th-ranked run defense, and they’ve allowed the sixth-most fantasy points to running backs (ESPN PPR scoring). Most of that has been with standout defensive tackle Aaron Donald on the field, and he is among the key Rams that will be rested on Sunday with a win gaining them virtually nothing in the playoffs.

Hyde had 25 carries for 84 yards and two touchdowns against the Rams back in Week 3, along with three catches for 10 yards.  A full repeat is probably not in order, but 20 carries and a touchdown is a reasonable bet.

Henry has double-digit carries in just seven of 15 games this season, and only one game with more than 15 touches. But with DeMarco Murray out due to a torn MCL, the second-year back out of Alabama is in line for plenty of work on Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The Jaguars are third in the NFL in total defense, and No.1 against the pass. But they are 22nd against the run, and back in Week 2 against Jacksonville Henry had 14 carries for 92 yards and a touchdown. From a fantasy perspective the Jaguars are in the top half of the league against running backs, but 49ers’ ball carriers Carlos Hyde and Matt Breida combined for 128 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 32 carries last week.

Henry’s looming high-volume role makes him a great fantasy option for Week 17. At $5,800, he’s also a great buy on FanDuel.
