Saquon Barkley lights up Washington defense on 92-yard Fiesta Bowl TD run
By Jack Crosby
Saquon Barkley provided what is likely one of the final big highlights of his college career on Saturday in the Fiesta Bowl.
Saturday afternoon in Glendale, Arizona is likely providing us the final time we can all watch the greatness that is Saquon Barkley. With Penn State taking on Washington in the Fiesta Bowl, it’s widely expected that this will be the final game for Barkley with the Nittany Lions before he declares for the NFL Draft soon.
With this potentially being the final college football game for one of the most electrifying players the game has seen in recent years, everyone was just sitting back and waiting to see if he could provide us all with one more ridiculous highlight before he does depart for the greener pastures of the NFL.
In the second quarter, with Penn State up 21-7 over Washington, everyone got the final highlight they were waiting for. After the Nittany Lions were backed up deep in their own territory following a pooch punt by the Huskies, Barkley torched the vaunted Washington defense on this amazing 92-yard scoring run you see below.
It truly is amazing how Barkley could break a play wide open, no matter where Penn State is on the field, when he sees the slightest bit of a crease. Once you give the Whitehall, Pa. native the least bit of daylight, he’ll more often than not make you pay for it.
Barkley has not officially declared for the NFL Draft as of yet, but the consensus is that he will shortly after the Fiesta Bowl matchup against Washington on Saturday.
If he does indeed declare, college football is losing one of the most explosive players it has ever seen in its illustrious history. We were reminded of this one last time on Saturday afternoon.
