NBA Power Rankings: How high can the Thunder climb?
By Daniel Lewis
The Magic squandered a fourth quarter lead, getting outscored 8-2 over the final 1:51 of game time in their first game of the week, losing to the Nets in Brooklyn. They had 37 points from Aaron Gordon and Elfrid Payton, but Evan Fournier was blocked with seven seconds left on a 3-point attempt that would have sent the game to overtime, and D.J. Augustin couldn’t knock in a shot either. The losing continued when they welcomed the Houston Rockets to town, who were without James Harden, but it didn’t matter, because the Rockets had Gerald Green and his remarkable hot-shooting. Another loss to the Cavaliers extended the Magic’s woes to 13 losses in 14 games, as things continue to go from bad to worse.
