NBA Power Rankings: How high can the Thunder climb?

The Grizzlies are the proud owners of last place in the Southwest Division, with the Mavericks passing them by virtue of not losing as many games. The Grizzlies defense let them down against the Clippers, their playoff rivals of yesteryear. The Clippers did a lot of work in the paint, working around Marc Gasol to get a lot of points in the paint. There isn’t a lot of offensive talent, and the Grizzlies began settling for jump shots and weren’t able to stay hot throughout the game. The Grizzlies put themselves in a hole against the Washington Wizards in their first home game of the new year, and were unable to rally in the fourth quarter. The Grizzlies offense sputtered to a halt without Tyreke Evans or Gasol on the court, and their defense couldn’t stop the Wizards starters. At least they have their first round pick this year.
