The Indianapolis Colts struggled mightily this season, but that was to be expected. Prior to the season, star quarterback Andrew Luck had surgery on his throwing shoulder, and the expectation was that he would be back at some point during the season. Well, that never happened, Luck was placed on injured reserve, and the Colts went on to have the third-worst record in the league.

Coming into next season, the front office expects Luck to be ready to go for the start of the season. If he is ready to go, there is still enough talent on the offensive side of the ball to challenge for supremacy in the AFC South in 2018. On the defensive side of the ball, the Colts could use a few more playmakers, so expect them to draft an edge rusher with the third overall pick.

The 2018 NFL Draft class is loaded with talent on the edges, but Bradley Chubb is the cream of the crop. Chubb is an explosive player, who can get after the quarterback with ease at the college level. He will be facing better talent in the pros, but his rare blend of size and speed should make him a dominant player in the league for years to come. The Colts will be back, but it all depends on what happens with Luck’s golden right shoulder.
