Michigan has shocked just about everyone, going from unranked and honestly an afterthought after losing Derrick Walton Jr. and DJ Wilson from last year’s squad to beating top rival Michigan State on their own floor. The Wolverines have the talent to compete for the Big Ten title this season and one of the best head coaches in the country. Despite a one-point home loss to Purdue, the Wolverines will make their first appearance in the Top 25.

Just a few weeks ago, TCU was 12-0 and looking like a favorite to win the Big 12, but then conference play hit. Jamie Dixon’s Horned Frogs began conference play with a home game against red-hot Oklahoma and lost by a single point. They then traveled to Baylor and picked up an impressive win before facing Kansas at home and then Texas and Oklahoma on the road last week. They lost all three of those games by a combined 10 points, including overtime losses to Texas and Oklahoma in Week 10. The Horned Frogs will drop, but not completely out.

All abord the Ohio State bandwagon. Keita Bates-Diop is one of the most underrated players in all of college basketball and first-year head coach Chris Holtmann has turned this program around quickly. Ever since losing to Clemson back in November, the Buckeyes are 9-1 with wins over Michigan, Michigan State and Maryland. They most recently demolished the Terrapins 91-69 in Week 10.

Rick Barnes has been great for Tennessee so far. The former Texas coach has turned the Volunteers back into winners and in a year when the SEC is extremely wide open, it wouldn’t be a shock to see a team like Tennessee come away with the title. The Volunteers took care of a struggling Vanderbilt team and a suddenly-reeling Texas A&M team in Week 10 and it looks like they will move up a couple of spots.

How good of a team is Miami? It’s truly hard to tell lately since the Hurricanes are 3-3 in their last six games, including losses to Georgia Tech and New Mexico State. The potential is there, as is the elite defensive ability, but the Hurricanes can’t seem to put a winning streak together lately. They lost to Clemson on the road in their only contest of Week 10, but will have a chance to respond with a home game against Duke in Week 11.
