College Basketball Rankings: Projected Top 25 for Week 11
With the 10th week of the college basketball season in the books, here’s what the AP Top 25 rankings might look like for Week 11.
The amount of movement in the college basketball rankings this season from week to week has been unlike any other in recent memory. Upsets seem to be taking place often and Week 10 was no exception.
In fact, four teams in the top 10 lost in Week 10, but not all of them were via upset. There were a number of ranked matchups such as Oklahoma vs. TCU, Texas Tech vs. West Virginia, Oklahoma vs. Texas Tech and Villanova vs. Xavier. None of those matchups, outside the latter one, disappointed.
Oklahoma has been the surprise of the Big 12 this season thanks to freshman phenom Trae Young. He led the Sooners to a couple of major Week 10 victories in conference play over No. 8 Texas Tech and No. 16 TCU — both at home. The Sooners look like a legitimate top-five team right now but the Big 12 is a tough conference this season.
Villanova continues to impress and it will hold on to that No. 1 spot this week thanks to a blowout win over No. 10 Xavier. The Musketeers didn’t stand much of a chance as the Wildcats rolled them at home by 24 points.
With no new No. 1 this week, does that mean the rest of the top-five will be the same? Not a chance as Michigan State also fell via upset to in-state rival Michigan at home and No. 2 West Virginia lost at Texas Tech. Expect some shakeups this week.
