Quarterback. USC. Sam Darnold. 2. player. 31.

It was time for a change in New York this past season, as the team let go of their head coach, and general manager before the season ended. The team has already replaced both men as we enter February, as Dave Gettleman will take over for Jerry Reese at general manager. At head coach, the team announced Pat Shurmur would take over for the fired Ben McAdoo, after leading the Minnesota Vikings to the NFC title game with Case Keenum at quarterback.

Speaking of the quarterback position, the team also announced that Eli Manning will be back under center for the team in 2018. Manning was actually benched by McAdoo in favor of Geno Smith last season, setting off a firestorm of questions as to whether he would return. Both Manning and Gettleman agreed he would be the starter in 2018, and they may want to draft his successor to play behind him next season.

New York drafted Davis Webb in the 2017 NFL Draft, but he saw no time this past season. If they do decide to go quarterback with the No. 2 pick, look for USC signal-caller Sam Darnold to be the next man off the board. Darnold is a fantastic quarterback talent who is a true leader of men, and the would have the luxury of learning behind one of the hardest working signal-callers to ever do it.
