2-on-1 Handicap Match for the WWE Championship

AJ Styles (c) vs. Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn

Just even thinking about the WWE Championship being held by two people at one time is making my blood boil, even if Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn would make it very entertaining. However, this is all just part of the ongoing storyline with Shane McMahon and it’s getting a little out of hand.

Had the story with Shane not been hovering over and hindering this the entire time, the build for this would actually have been entertaining. WWE Champion AJ Styles lost to Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn in non-title matches on consecutive episodes of SmackDown Live due to outside interference.  Okay, I’ve got no problem with that. He then challenged Owens and Zayn to a 2-on-1 Handicap Match. Okay, I can deal with that as well.

But then Daniel Bryan got involved and made the match for the WWE Championship, and that’s just a little ridiculous. Don’t get me wrong here. I think that this match is going to be fantastic. All three participants are some of the best in-ring performers that WWE has, and I do expect great things here. Maybe I’m overthinking things here or not thinking outside the box enough or whatever, but I just don’t like the stipulation here.

Prediction: Again, just thinking of two people co-holding the WWE Championship has me upset. But I suppose they did just have that same title on Jinder Mahal for a very long time so what the hell do I know? With that being said, I don’t think WWE takes their biggest prize into WrestleMania with two people holding it, especially when it’s 99.9 percent likely that Owens and Zayn take on Shane and a partner in New Orleans. AJ Styles retains.
