WWE Royal Rumble 2018: Preview and predictions

Triple Threat Match for the WWE Universal Championship
Brock Lesnar (c) vs. Braun Strowman vs. Kane
I’ve seen a lot of people upset that Kane is in this Triple Threat Match for the WWE Universal Championship, but I’ve got zero problem with it. The guy has been around for two decades, has done everything ever asked of him in so many different capacities and giving him one last run in the main event isn’t hurting anyone. And we all know why he’s there anyway, don’t we?
The build for this match has been great. Watching these three behemoths get after one another week after week on Monday Night RAW has been a lot of fun to watch. It started with Kane and Braun Strowman battling for the number one contender spot and went from there. With no clear winner, the Triple Threat was made. Enter Lesnar into the mix, and we’ve gotten plenty of destruction on the way to the Royal Rumble. It’s fun watching Lesnar not having to dominate everyone to be entertaining, and he’s taken his fair share of hits during this build.
As for Braun, he’s arguably the most over guy in WWE right now. The crowd erupts every single time the “ROAR” hits and he’s taken the ball and run with it. Sure, the backstage segments with him pulling down the wall and tipping over the truck were a little over the top, but it’s been wildly entertaining.
Prediction: I think most of us still believe that Roman Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar is going to happen at WrestleMania 34, right? That’s been the plan for the better part of a year, and I don’t see Vince changing his mind now. The easy call here is for Lesnar to pin Kane to keep Strowman looking strong. It’s not often I would predict all the champions retaining, but that’s what I’m going with here.
