When it comes to inside linebacker recruits, Dax Hollifield is one of the most sought after. He loves the game of football and he boasted insane stats during his tenure at Shelby, North Carolina. Now,  he has many programs looking to lock up the middle of their defense for the next four years.

At 6’2″ and 238 pounds, Hollifield possesses the ideal size to match his talent. With his ability to tackle and wrap up, the 2017 U.S. Army Player of the Year nominee is going to bring an immediate impact to the program he chooses.

Right now, it’s seen as neck and neck between Stanford and Virginia Tech. David Shaw has done a tremendous job developing linebackers and his defensive players as head coach of the Cardinal thus far.

Hollifield would be a natural fit in their system. However, Justin Fuente has been doing big things in short order with the Virginia Tech Hokies. Choosing Virginia Tech would also be a lot closer to home for the North Carolina native.

It won’t be shocking at all if he does decide to ultimately choose a program like Stanford. However, for prediction’s sake and the fact that National Signing Day is always guaranteed to be full of surprises, let’s roll with Virginia Tech.

Prediction: Virginia Tech
