8. Alshon Jeffery, Philadelphia

Eagles receiver Alshon Jeffery might have the longest odds an offensive player for a few reasons. First, the nature of the Eagles offense is to spread the ball around. They don’t tend to funnel the ball to any one player in the offense and that could limit the opportunities for Jeffery to make a big impact.

Second, the Patriots almost always try to take away one of the most important pieces to the offense. It’s somewhat of a coin flip coming into the game about whether that player will be Jeffery or tight end Zach Ertz. Odds are it will be Jeffery as he is the more explosive player.

If Jeffery is the focal point of the Patriots defense and he still goes out and puts up a great game, he will get MVP consideration. He’ll need to be the main man for quarterback Nick Foles and is getting hot at the right time. He’s only had a combined 10 targets in Philly’s two playoff games. However, he’s turned that into nine receptions for 146 yards and two touchdowns.

If he approaches the 100-yard plateau and the Eagles win, Jeffery could become just the eighth receiver to ever win MVP. One reception could turn into the game-breaker and swing the Super Bowl for Philadelphia.
