2. Minnesota Vikings

Just in case the Vikings hadn’t already caused the Saints enough pain in the past few weeks, they could really stick it to New Orleans by swooping in and taking their franchise quarterback. Minnesota has gobs of cap space in part because they don’t have a quarterback signed for next season. Case Keenum acquitted himself very well this past season but he’s not the type of player who is going to push the team over the hump. In addition, he’ll likely be looking for top dollar coming off a career year.

Minnesota may have a tough time paying big money to a career backup other than one season. Sam Bradford has played in 80 of a possible 112 games in his career, good for about 71 per cent. Teddy Bridgewater is a heartwarming story coming back from a catastrophic injury but do the Vikings trust him with a potential Super Bowl team? There are just too many questions for the Vikings not to explore every opportunity.

Brees would walk into one heck of an offense if he were to head to the Vikings. Not only is running back Dalvin Cook looking to build off a strong rookie season that was cut short with a torn ACL, he would inherit the pass catching trio of receivers Stefon Diggs and Adam Thielen along with tight end Kyle Rudolph. That plethora of weaponry plus one of the best defense in the NFL would tempt any quarterback. Minnesota made it all the way to the NFC Championship before bowing out to the eventual Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles. Adding Brees could mean hoisting the Lombardi Trophy at this time next year.
