9. Have the players perform the halftime acts

Last year, DJ Khaled yelled “all the way up” into a microphone over and over again, and it wasn’t great. On one hand that means that the halftime show wasn’t good. On the other hand, we now know the level of success that the NBA expects from their acts.

I think NBA players could be at least as good at stuff they do.

Victor Oladipo can sing.

Oh lord can he sing. I want to watch this. Get him backed up by Myles Turner and Domantas Sabonis doing harmonies, and boom. I will be glued to the TV.

LaMarcus Aldridge raises and trains small dogs to do tricks. I don’t have a video of this because it’s not true, but if I did and it was I’d put it right here. Aldridge’s dogs are somewhat infamous in the San Antonio dog-raising scene for being “too big to be dogs” and “looking like a person wearing a dog costume,” but don’t let that fool you. They are actual dogs, and they can actually talk and build small hovels out of sticks and rocks.

Wouldn’t you want to see this at halftime? We’ve had dog based acts before, but nothing this compelling, and nothing done by an NBA player. I think it’s time.

What I’d most like to see is Al Horford’s laser brigade. This has only been hinted at before, but apparently he has his own knockoff of The Jabberwockies that eat lasers then shoot them out of their hands and eyes. I want to see if this is true. I need to see if this is true.
