The men’s curling tournament barrels on with another critical match between Canada and Korea on Friday.
The round-robin portion of the men’s curling tournament continues in the early hours of Friday morning as Canada will face off against Korea at 6:05 a.m. ET on the Feb. 16. This is a huge match for Korea especially, as they are already 0-2 (pending their match with Norway) while Canada has jumped out to two early victories.
Going winless in the first three or four matches would be a disaster for Korea and leave them with virtually no chance to make the four team semi-finals. As far as Canada goes, stacking up victories now will leave them on the fast track for a semi-final appearance. Canada’s team consists of Kevin Koe, Marc Kennedy, Brent Laing, Ben Hebert, and Scott Pfeifer. Korea will counter with a squad of KIM ChangMin, SEONG SeHyeon, KIM MinChan, LEE KiBok, and OH EunSu.
Fans who are interested in this match have options to stream it online but perhaps the best option is simply to use the NBC Sports app. You will need some type of cable credentials such as DirecTV or FuboTV, but it’s a very simple process to activate the app. Even if you don’t typically have a cable service, you can easily use the free trial of Fubo TV to gain access to NBC channels. Everything else can be a little sketchy due to the fact that NBC has the exclusive rights to the Olympic games this time around. The app itself will only give you a 30 minute preview before you must provide access. Just be sure to cancel any service you sign up for a free trial of lest your credit card actually be charged.
Both of these squads will be fighting hard for a victory and even though curling is a bit esoteric, it’s a very fun watch. It’s a very easy sport to get into and the strategy alone makes it well worth the time.
