Former team: Jacksonville Jaguars

One big reason that Dak Prescott regressed in his sophomore season was the lack of seperation the Cowboys wide receivers were able to get. Dezs Bryant looks to have lost a step. Cole Beasley was not the menace from the slot he was in 2017. The new contract handed out to Terrance Williams already looks like a mistake. Rookie Ryan Switzer looks ready for a bigger role but this team needs to bring in help for Prescott on the outside.

There are big name free agent wide receivers like Sammy Watkins and Jarvis Landry. Both of those will likely be out of the Cowboys preferred price range. A player that is in the next tier that Dallas can target is Marqise Lee. The former Jaguar could hit the open market, especially if Jacksonville choose to re-sign Allen Robinson, the team’s top receiver and impending free agent.

In Lee the team would get a dynamic playmaker opposite Bryant. This would open up the offense, and hopefully the underneath routes that Prescott loves so much. Lee also spent time as Jacksonville’s top option and was solid there. With better quarterback play, leaving Blake Bortles for Prescott, he is a prime candidate to outperform his previous numbers.

Dallas may look to the draft for a wide receiver in a deep class. However, rookie wide receivers are not known for immediate production. For a team fighting for the playoffs and to reach the Super Bowl that is what they should be gunning for. Lee is a great option, outside of the elite players, to help an offense that was stagnant a year ago.
