WICHITA, KS – FEBRUARY 15: Head coach Gregg Marshall of the Wichita State Shockers talks with player Rashard Kelly /

South Region

(1) Villanova Big East  vs. (16) Florida Gulf Coast Atlantic Sun/Wagner Northeast

(2) Purdue vs. (15) Rider Metro Atlantic

(3) Wichita St. vs. (14) Vermont American East

(4) North Carolina vs. (13) Murray State Ohio Valley

(5) Clemson vs. (12) Providence/Virginia Tech

(6) Arkansas vs. (11) Boise St.

(7) Arizona St. vs. (10) NC State

(8) Kentucky vs. (9) Oklahoma

Boise St. is a team flying stealth under the radar, and one the Selection committee may snub. However, they are as good as any at-large, bubble candidate around. The Broncos resume is lacking a recognizable marquee win, even though they routed the MVC champion Loyola Ramblers by 34 points during their non-conference slate.

Also, losing to the Mountain West-leading Nevada Wolfpack assures their fate of having to win the Mountain West Conference tournament. Senior guard Chandler Hutchison wants to return to the NCAA tournament and look for him to lead the wild Broncos to the promised land of March Madness.

Arkansas is a powerhouse school not generating much buzz this season. Sure, they’ve had their struggles, but Mike Anderson has his Razorbacks clicking on all cylinders, after a blowout win over the Aggies of Texas A&M this past weekend.  A team with depth, stamina, and who is tenacious on defense, they will disrupt some brackets and opposing competition when March Madness arrives.

Next: Everything wrong with the initial March Madness rankings
