8. Boston Celtics

The Celtics don’t need design frills or alternate unis to look good. Their classic green and white, worn in very similar fashion since the 1940s, is one of the NBA’s best uniforms. They did big block letting on the front of the jersey way before it was cool.

Not much else needs to be said for Boston’s set — it is iconic, no matter what else Nike comes up with.

They went BFBS and GFGS on the Statement and City editions, which is fine. The alternates do not detract from the regular set, and only serve to give fans something new to look at. Both look good by themselves, with the black Statement using white outlines well to highlight the Celtics’ beautiful green, and the gray City creating a unique-looking pattern to contrast the white and green regulars and further accentuate the green. The drawback comes on the side panels of the Statements, which are all too unnecessary. But all in all, solid from Boston.
