Everything you need to know to watch the women’s bobsled teams compete in their first two of four runs at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang.
The second bobsledding event of the 2018 Winter Olympics in the track sports if the women’s bobsled. The United States is sending two women’s teams to Pyeongchang to compete.
- Elana Meyers Taylor with Lauren Gibbs
- Jamie Greubel Poser with Aja Evans
The women’s teams are stacked with talent. Taylor is contending for her third Olympic medal. Poser won the bronze at the 2014 Sochi Games. Unfortunately, no Lolo Jones at the 2018 Winter Games. Briauna Jones is a replacement athlete.
Like other track sports, the women’s bobsled will consist of four runs split over two days. The fastest cumulative time between all four runs will determine the gold medal winner.
Unlike the luge, the women compete on the same length course as the men. Women could also compete on the four-man teams, a rule change that began at the 2014 Sochi Games, but the United States aren’t using any women on their four-man teams.
The first run begins at 6:50 a.m. ET on Sunday. The second run will begin at 7:55 a.m. ET.
You can stream the event on NBC Sports Live but it doesn’t appear on NBC’s list of televised coverage for Tuesday.
