4. Cody Latimer

Cutting Torrey Smith gives the Eagles $5 million in cap relief. It is an easy decision to make considering Philadelphia’s cap constraints. Mack Hollins looks ready to take over for Smith and is a very intriguing second year player with great size. The Eagles of course also have Alshon Jeffrey and Nelson Agholor, who does his best work out of the slot.

Philadelphia also has Shelton Gibson, last year’s fifth-round pick, waiting for his opportunity. Adding a true perimeter burner on the cheap should still be something Philadelphia explores nonetheless. Latimer has a lot of ability, but never put it together in Denver. He mostly has played out of the slot, but he has the size and speed to factor in on the perimeter.

Maybe a change of scenery at a discount rate in a much better offense ignites Latimer’s career, especially if the Eagles keep it simple with him and use him almost entirely on deep routes.
