4. Wide Receiver

Many pundits see this as Washington’s number one need. There is a strong case for that and Pryor will not be returning to the nation’s capital, but with Smith’s conservative short-passing nature, you could also see him completing an awful lot of passes to Jamison Crowder, Chris Thompson, Jordan Reed if he can stay healthy as well as Vernon Davis, who refuses to age.

Washington also has 2016 first round pick Josh Doctson. We haven’t seen nearly enough of Doctson, but there is unquestioned ability here. If he breaks out and becomes the true number one receiver that the Redskins envisioned a few years back, Washington’s wide receiver corps will be in fine shape.

Maybe that is a tremendous leap of faith based on what we have seen from Doctson, but it also isn’t totally unrealistic. The Redskins should add a perimeter speedster or an outside receiver with size, but considering the overall status of their pass catchers, this isn’t the very top priority despite what some might tell you.
