2. Safety

The Redskins secondary needs a lot of work. Hall may or may not return, but he wouldn’t be a huge loss and is 34 years old. Fortunately, Washington rushes the passer well, but both cornerback and safety need to be addressed dramatically this offseason nonetheless.

Some see Fabian Moreau as a possible safety convert, but the logical move is to keep him at cornerback unless he proves he can’t play his natural position. DJ Swearinger will start for sure and is coming off a strong season. But the rest of the safeties here leave a lot to be desired. Right now the other starter would be Deshazor Everett or Montae Nicholson.

These two combined to play over 900 defensive snaps last year, but they are best as depth safeties and core special teamers. Adding one safety of significance here in free agency or early in the draft should be an easy decision.
