3. Bolster the offensive line

Adding T.J. Lang and Ricky Wagner didn’t buoy the Lions front the way they’d hoped. Each missed three games and struggled with injuries. The loss of their starters revealed insufficient depth and even when Detroit had its right side of the line healthy, the duo failed to play up to their talent or contract.

This offensive line consistently failed to open up holes in the running game and this line finished 21st in adjusted sack rate allowed.

There’s been some discussion about going after Lang’s old Packers teammate Josh Sitton, recently relinquished from the Bears. Finding a quality left guard could go a long way in fixing this run game and improving the pass protection.

Someone like Isaiah Wynn from Georgia could be a great fit for the Lions as a player who can play guard or tackle in a pinch.
