At this point, the Vikings don’t need help in a ton of areas on defense, considering they carried one of the best in the league throughout the 2017 season. They, alongside the Philadelphia Eagles and Jacksonville Jaguars proved how defense truly does win championships, and it’s tough to imagine their defense getting much better next year.

However, the one thing that the Vikings could use is help in their secondary, if not solely for depth. Terence Newman has been a force in the Vikings defense for a while as a corner, but he’s about to hit his 40s, and he’s not exactly in the same situation as Tom Brady. Whether he plays or not, it’d be a huge help to have some youth in the secondary, even just for the aspect of having some fresh legs every once in a while.

Kyle Fuller provides an interesting option for the Vikings as far as their secondary goes, and he could be an invaluable weapon alongside Xavier Rhodes and Trae Waynes in the nickel. Fuller, who just turned 26 years old, could learn from Newman right off the bat, and could instantly be a threat as he transitions to another lineup in the NFC North.

Add in the chance to go in and play your former team twice in a season, especially with a rival as good as the Vikings, and this former Chicago Bears corner could be chomping at the bit to hop onto the bandwagon this spring.
