1. Cleveland Browns

With the most salary cap space in the league and two top-five picks in April’s draft, the Browns can go any direction, or more likely multiple directions, to fortify their quarterback situation this offseason. Competing in the market for Kirk Cousins would require Cousins to want money over immediate winning, but general manager John Dorsey has to start there and work his way down the pecking order of free agent signal callers.

For what it’s worth, Peter King of MMQB.com has predicted the Browns will sign Bradford and pair him with No. 1 overall pick Sam Darnold. Signing a veteran and going back to the draft well is a solid plan, and let’s not forget about DeShone Kizer still being in the mix.

The Browns have been significantly tied to A.J. McCarron, and he would be a similar bridge quarterback to hold down the fort while a rookie is groomed. But McCarron may see himself as a long-term option if he can get a clear opportunity to start in 2018, which would not necessarily fit Cleveland’s plan. Bradford should be in play at that point, and the Browns are in a position where they can make the best offer.
