You’re seeing a trend here, right? A lot of the teams that could use a player like Robinson aren’t exactly stable franchises. Jacksonville had been terrible for a decade until this past season. Chicago has struggled since canning Lovie Smith. But at least the Washington Redskins have hovered around .500 with Kirk Cousins at quarterback the last few years.

Okay, Cousins is going to be playing somewhere else in 2018. That’s because Washington traded for former Kansas City Chiefs starter Alex Smith during Super Bowl week. Smith is a competent NFL starting quarterback that should allow the Washington offense to remain steady for head coach Jay Gruden. Washington desperately needs help at receiver. Could Robinson help out the Redskins?

Washington will have $34,436,697 in available cap space this offseason. That’s good enough for 12th in the NFL, just above the league average in overall space available. The Redskins have talent across the gridiron, as Washington could be able to hold its own in a tough NFC East. The problem is that the NFC East could be a bloodbath for years to come. Any of the four rival teams could win the division, as repeat champions aren’t really a thing there.

By going to Washington, Robinson will inherit an excellent offensive-minded coach, a solid defense and a serviceable franchise quarterback. Washington might be chaotic with owner Daniel Snyder and team president Bruce Allen in the building, but this is a good landing spot for Robinson to get paid and contend for playoff berths. The Redskins are an underrated lading spot for Robinson for sure.
