2018 NFL Mock Draft: Josh Rosen heads to Broncos
By Brad Weiss
The Cleveland Browns have a lot of work to do before draft night, as they currently have two of the first four picks in the first round. They received pick No. 4 thanks to a trade they made with the Houston Texans during the 2017 NFL Draft, a pick that became quarterback Deshaun Watson. Cleveland should get their quarterback with the first overall pick, and then switch their attention to their secondary at No. 4.
The top defensive back in this draft class has long been Minkah Fitzpatrick, and he should be the first one off the board. Though he made some pointed comments towards the organization during the NFL Scouting Combine, he may be too good to pass up. He has the size and speed you look for in a player who can lead your secondary, and he should be an impact guy from day one.
If the Browns can hit in the first and second round, they could be a legitimate football team for the first time in a long time. Their defense actually was not that bad last season, and adding a player like Fitzpatrick to the secondary could make them tough to throw on next season. Cleveland is starving for at least a competitive team, after winning only one game in the last two seasons.
